Wanda Papis

WANDA PAPIS
MORTON - Wanda "Grandma" Papis, 95, of Morton, passed away Sat. Nov. 11, 2017 at Morton Villa Care Center.
Wanda was born Dec. 13, 1921 in Herne, Germany, to Mathias and Katherina (Mankowski) Trzeciak. She married Waclaw "Joe" Papis on April 22, 1946 in Germany. Her husband preceded her in death on May 11, 1995. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Surviving are son, Ed (Joan) Papis of East Peoria; three daughters, Krystyna (Mike) Bush of Morton, Sylvia (Mike) Stein of Lithia, Fla., and Sandy Anderson of East Peoria. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Renee' (Greg) McCain of Dyersburg, Tenn., Eddie (Kristy) Papis and Lori (Brian) Porter, both of Washington, Jeff Stein and Jennifer Bauman, both of Lithia, Fla., Jake (Jennifer) Stein of Orlando, Fla., Nikki (Jason) Berna of Dubuque, Iowa, and Kerry Anderson of Milwaukee, Wis., and 17 great-grandchildren.
Wanda was a dedicated and loving homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family.

Visitation will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton on Sat., Nov. 18, 2017 from 10 to 10:45 a.m., with a funeral Mass following at 11 a.m. Msgr. Gerald Ward will officiate.
Burial will be in Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.

Memorials may be made to OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois.
