WILLIAM H. "BILL" HAECKER
MORTON - William H. "Bill" Haecker, 66, of Morton, passed away Mon., July 24, 2017, at his residence.
Bill was born May 17, 1951, in Wabash, Ind., to Harry and Colleen (Grump) Haecker. In Dec. 1981, he married Ruth Randol in Phoenix, Ariz.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth of Morton, three daughters, Jen Merritt of Morton, Kim (Jerry) Traylor of East Peoria, and Lisa (Mike) Lovell of Pekin; one son, Bub (Vonda Dupuis) Malott of Farmington; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. Also surviving is his mother, Colleen, of North Manchester, Ind.; and his four siblings, Robert (Christina) Haecker of North Manchester, Ind., Doris Moore of Somerset, Ind., Tom (Amy) Haecker of Wabash, Ind., and Bonnie (Duan) Caudill of Silver Lake, Ind.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry; his brother-in-law, Marvin, and his uncle Charles Miller.
Bill worked 36 years at Morton Buildings, last working in Maintenance. He later worked five years for Parker Fabrications, in Maintenance, retiring in 2013.
A local visitation will be held Thurs., July 27, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Fri., July 28, at Grandstaff Hentgen Funeral Home in Wabash, Ind., and from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m., Sat. July 29 at the funeral home, with a funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be held at Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash.
Memorials may be made to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, or to the American Lung Association.
