MORTON – Yvonne M. Mueller, 84, of Morton, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born January 7, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa, to William and Bernice (Hanchett) Emory and raised in Decatur, Ill.
Surviving are her sons, Dave (Mildred) of Orlando, Fla., Doug (Michelle) of Jackson, Mo., Dan (Lori) of Morton, and Don (Irene) of Lincoln, Ill.; six grandchildren, Shane Johnson of Toney, Ala., Sheanah (Brad) Whitt of Athens, Ala., Kristyn (Payton) Haight of Laguna Niguel, Cali., Austin (Brittany) Mueller of Jackson, Mo., Kayla Mueller of Chicago, Ill., Kelli Mueller of Indianapolis, Ind.; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul (Kathy) Emory of Decatur, Ill.; four nephews; and many cousins.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Reffett.
A long-time resident of Morton, nothing was more important to her than family, her faith in Jesus and instilling that faith in her four boys. She always went the extra mile to make sure every event, holiday and birthday party were special. With an infectious smile, she went out of her way to help others, serving as care-giver to several senior citizens over the years. An excellent cook, it is often debated what her best dish was: her homemade donuts, fried chicken or meat loaf.
After her sons were raised, she worked for many years at Central Illinois Agency on Aging… of course helping needy senior citizens find the services they needed. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, braving the elements for countless soccer matches and baseball games.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Public visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A private family Celebration of Life Service will be live streamed at 6 p.m. Friday via http://www.facebook.com/knappjohnsonfuneralhome.Burial of cremated remains will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to Town and Country Baptist Church in Pekin or Brandon Wood Retirement Center in Morton.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
