MORTON – M. Alberta King, 89, of Morton, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Reflections Memory Care in Morton.
She was born on August 7, 1930, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Benjamin and Vermeta (Fernandes) Elliott. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Skinner; and one sister, Jeanie Kaufmann.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda (David) Sampson of Pensacola, Fla.; two grandsons, Nathan (Heidi) Mead of Spokane, Wash., and Nicholas Mead of New Port, Ore.; one great-granddaughter, Leanna Mead-Maltais (Andrew) of Pensacola, Fla.; and one brother, Lonnie (Sheri) Elliott of East Moline, Ill; and four nephews.
She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, where she was a greeter at the 8 a.m. Sunday service for many years. Alberta enjoyed traveling and her gardening.
Cremation rites have been accorded. No services will be held. Burial of cremated remains will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
