MORTON — Kenneth L. Saltzman, 77, of Morton, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
He was born on April 6, 1944, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Elmer and Mildred (Crow) Saltzman. He married Madeline Witmer in Sterling, Ill., on March 4, 1967.
Surviving are his wife, Madeline "Madi" Saltzman, of Morton; sons, Andy (Holly) Saltzman of Groveland, Ill. and Joey Saltzman of Morton; four grandchildren, Grace, Hope, Faith, and Christian Saltzman; two brothers, Nelson (Cindy) Saltzman of Spring Valley, Wis. and Paul (Sarah) Saltzman of Gardner, Kan.; and two sisters, Donna Mae Bastin of Lincoln, Neb. and Marilyn (Gary) Rose of Wilmington, N.C.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Larry Saltzman.
Kenneth was originally from Milford, Nebraska. He worked as an accountant for the Illinois Department of Corrections and then worked for 10 years at Apostolic Christian LifePoints.
Kenneth was an avid hand quilter.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Eastside Bible Church in Morton, with Pastor Steve Weber officiating.
Wearing masks is requested. In case of inclement weather, the memorial service will be held indoors and masks will be required. Due to COVID the dinner following the service will be for family only.
